OUR CLASSROOMS

Each classroom is carefully designed to meet the needs of the toddlers, twos, and 3 – 6 year olds they serve. Low tables, chairs & materials within easy reach offer your child every opportunity for independence. The child is invited to explore and discover within our carefully prepared learning environment.

The classroom includes these areas:

PRACTICAL  LIFE: The activities are reflective of a child’s daily life, encouraging the child to develop concentration, coordination and independence through learning to care for himself, for others, and for his environment.

SENSORIAL:  These exercises focus on colors, shapes and sizes.  The purpose is to aid in the refinement of the child'’ senses.

LANGUAGE:  The activities are designed to aid the child in the development of reading, writing and vocabulary skills.

MATH:  Our concrete math materials enable the child to learn basic mathematical concepts and skills.

GEOGRAPHY:  We introduce the child to concepts of physical space.  We begin with body awareness and evolve toward working with maps and globes.

SCIENCE:  Exploration of the physical environment increases the child’s awareness of the world around him.

ART: Creativity & expression are explored through the use of various artistic media.

MUSIC:  Dancing, singing and the use of musical instruments encourage the child to actively experience the joy of music.

DRAMA: Imaginative expression through the use of puppetry, costumes, and make-up enrich the child’s development.

OUTDOORS: Large muscle exercise, imaginative play, games, motor skill development and gardening are among the activities the children enjoy out of doors.
